| An Overview of Warren Harding's
Administraion Warren Harding was elected President by a country weary of wartime restraints and world problems. People wished to reduce the country's responsibilities in world affairs and to resume their normal activities with as little bother as possible. Unfortunately for Harding, everyone in the country had a different idea of what was normal, and he was bound to annoy somebody no matter what he did. The popularity of Harding's administration was further lessened by the short but severe economic depression of 1921, as well as the Teapot Dome and other scandals.
