Ezra Taft Benson
grew up on a farm and spent much of his life working to improve agriculture in the United States, including a stint as Secretary of Agriculture. When not engaged in agricultural pursuits he was active in the Mormon Church, and became President of the Mormon Church in 1985.

Joseph Freeman, Jr.
became the first black to be ordained into the Mormon priesthood on June 11, 1978.
