Paul Adolph Volcker
is best known for being Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from August 6, 1979 to August 11, 1987. During his tenure at "The Fed," inflation was lowered from a high of 13.5% in 1981 to a low of 3.2% in 1983.
