Walt Whitman Bridge

The Walt Whitman Bridge carries Interstate 76 over the Delaware River. Construction began on August 1, 1953, and the bridge opened to traffic on May 16, 1957. It was designed by Othmar Ammann, and named for poet Walt Whitman, who resided in nearby Camden, New Jersey.
